Ingress Intel and IITC Guide

What Is Ingress Intel?

Ingress Intel, often called the Intel Map, is the official live map for the game Ingress. It shows portals, links, control fields, and activity across the world in real time. If you want to understand what is happening beyond the screen of your phone, Intel is where you start.

The Intel Map is web based, which means you can use it on a desktop, laptop, or tablet. Many experienced agents keep it open while planning operations, tracking activity, or learning a new area.

Why the Intel Map Matters

Intel gives you information the scanner cannot show all at once. You can zoom out, view entire regions, and see how portals connect across cities, counties, or states. This makes it essential for both casual play and organized operations.

Key things Intel helps with:

* Finding portals and portal clusters
* Seeing existing links and control fields
* Planning routes and attack paths
* Coordinating with other agents
* Understanding regional control and activity

What You Can See on the Intel Map

The Intel Map shows nearly every important game element in one place.

Portals

You can click any portal to see its name, level, mods, resonators, and ownership. This is useful for scouting targets and deciding which portals need upgrades or defense.

Links

Intel displays all active links between portals. This makes it easy to spot blockers, crossing links, and opportunities for layered fields.

Control Fields

Fields are clearly visible on Intel, including their size and ownership. Zooming out helps you understand how fields stack and how large regional control is formed.

Activity and Changes

With regular refreshes, Intel lets you monitor changes in near real time. You can see when portals flip, links drop, or new fields appear.

Common Uses for Intel

Agents use Intel in different ways depending on their play style.

* Casual players use it to find nearby portals and plan walks
* New agents use it to learn how links and fields work
* Fielding teams use it to design multilayer operations
* Defensive players use it to monitor key anchors
* Community leaders use it to coordinate events and ops
